'Faint' follows a blooming relationship where the narrator feels as if it's all a fairytale-like dream. In this dream however, they're inadequate and not functioning as they should [I'm the walking doll, but I can't walk at all]. The other in the relationship accepts these shortcomings, unaware of the 'blister on the heart' the narrator bears, inadvertently diminishing and crushing them [break my bones tonight, break my promise] [your love is violence]. The flame of their bond is kept alive only by fleeting elation: momentarily forgetting all else.
